Getting started
How do I start playing?
Go to game.alduin-online.com, choose Create Account, then make a character. It is free and runs in your browser. See How to create an account.
Where should I go first?
Your character starts on Beginner Island. Do the villagers' quests, reach level 1, then take the ship from the harbour to the mainland and walk to Aeven. Your First 30 Minutes shows the way.
How do I choose a class?
Talk to the Wise Man in the centre of Aeven and choose Class menu. You can change again later. See Classes.
Gold, items and pets
How do I make gold?
Quests, selling loot to shops, gold dropped by monsters, fishing at the Aeven Fishing Docks and the Hula Guardian. See How to earn gold.
How do I get better equipment?
Buy it in town shops or get it from monsters and quests. Each item page shows its requirements and every way to get it. See the Inventory and equipment guide and the item database.
How do I get a pet?
Do The Missing Kitten (Cat) or A Loyal Companion (Dog) in Aeven, find a rare pet drop, take part in Halloween, or trade with another player. See the Pet Companion Guide.
Where can I fish?
At the Aeven Fishing Docks, east of Aeven. Buy a rod from Old Finn. See the Fishing Guide.
How do I get Alduin Coins?
Every monster you defeat has about a 10 % chance to drop one. See the Alduin Coin Guide.
Is there a marketplace?
Not yet. The marketplace on the homepage is a preview. Players trade with each other and with shops. See the Marketplace Guide.
Playing
How do I complete quests?
Talk to quest givers, follow the current step in your Quests window and return when it is done. Every quest has a walkthrough on this wiki. See How quests work.
What happens when I die?
You lose nothing: no items, gold or experience. You reappear at your home point. See Death & respawning.
Can other players attack me?
Only in arenas and special player-versus-player areas. Everywhere else you are safe from other players.
How do I talk to someone privately?
Type !name followed by your message, or right-click them and choose Whisper. See Friends, chat & messages.
How do I play on my phone?
Open the game in your phone's browser. A joystick and attack buttons appear on screen. See Controls & Interface.
Help and support
The game looks dark or a map is missing. What do I do?
Refresh your browser page (F5 on a computer). This loads any new graphics after an update or at the start of an event.
How do I report a bug or a player?
Right-click a player and choose Report, or use the Report a Player page. For bugs and questions, ask in the Discord.
How do I contact staff?
Join the Alduin Online Discord. Staff will never ask for your password.
Is Alduin Online free?
Yes, it is free to play in your browser.
