Pet Companion Guide

Everything about pet companions in Alduin Online — how pets work, how to get each one, abilities, rarity, levelling, summoning and trading.

Updated 2026-10-25

Pets are companions that walk behind you, are seen by everyone around you and help you in battle with their own special ability. Each pet levels up as you fight together.

The pets

Cat

Cat Common

Healing Purr: When your HP falls below 30%, your cat purrs and restores some of your HP.

Help Old Mara in Aeven find her missing kitten (quest: The Missing Kitten).

Turtle

Turtle Common

Shell Guard: After a heavy hit or at low HP, your turtle shields you and reduces incoming damage.

A rare find on Baby Turtles at the beach and on Monkey Island.

Dog

Dog Rare

Loyal Bite: Bites the monsters you fight, sometimes with a strong bite.

Ranger Tobin in Aeven Port is looking for a lost dog (quest: A Loyal Companion).

Baby Dragon

Baby Dragon Legendary

Dragon Breath: Breathes fire at the monsters you fight and may set them burning.

Said to hatch, very rarely, near the Dragons of the Atlantis Pathway.

Spirit Fox

Spirit Fox Epic

Spirit Blessing: During fights, blesses you with extra attack or defense for a short time.

Spirit Foxes sometimes follow those who fight the Mushrooms of the Gnome Forest and the Angry Vines.

Haunted Pumpkin

Haunted Pumpkin Event Halloween

Trick or Treat: Treat: heals you when your HP falls below 45%. Trick: curses the monster you fight, so it deals less damage and takes more.

Halloween only: help the Pumpkin Keeper in Haunted Aeven break the curse (quest: The Pumpkin Keeper's Curse). Can also be traded.

How to get a pet

Quest pets can be earned once per character. Pet drops go straight into the bag of the player who made the kill, so nobody else can take them. You can also get a pet from another player by trading.

Rarity

Every pet has a rarity: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, or Event for event pets. A higher rarity makes the pet's ability stronger and lets it level a little faster.

Levels and experience

  • Pets level up to level 50.
  • When you defeat a monster with your pet out, your pet earns 20 % of the experience you got, on top of yours: you never lose experience to your pet.
  • Pets also earn a little experience each time their ability helps you or they hit a monster.
  • A higher level makes the ability stronger. You see a message when your pet levels up.

Using your pet

  • Open the Pets window from the side menu (or the phone menu). It shows your pets with their portrait, rarity, level, experience, ability, power and cooldown.
  • Summon one pet at a time; Dismiss it to send it away. Using a pet's item in your bag also summons or dismisses it.
  • Your summoned pet sits in the Pet slot of your paperdoll: click it to open the Pets window, right-click to dismiss.
  • Rename your pet (1–16 letters, digits, spaces, - and ') and Preview all its animations.
  • The Collection tab shows every pet you have discovered, with hints for the rest.
  • Pets follow you through doors and warps, leave when you log out and come back when you log in.

In battle

  • Pets only fight monsters, never players.
  • They do not attack bosses or the monsters a boss brings with it.
  • Damage your pet does counts as yours: the kill, the experience and the loot stay yours.
  • Each ability has a cooldown, shown in the Pets window.

Safety

Pets cannot be dropped, sold, junked or stored in a bank locker or chest, so they are always safe with you. To give a pet to another player, use a trade; see Pet trading.
