Pets can change owners through the normal trade window.

Start a trade
Right-click the other player and choose Trade.

Offer the pet
Open the Pets window and choose Offer in trade on the pet. Its item appears in the trade window for both of you. The pet must not be summoned.

Add something on both sides
A trade needs at least one item from each player.

Agree
When both players agree, the pet moves to its new owner.
The pet keeps its name, level, experience and rarity. If something is wrong when you both agree (for example the pet was summoned again), the whole trade is cancelled and nobody loses anything.
Pets cannot be dropped, sold to shops or stored, so a trade is the only way to pass one on.
