When you create a character

Your outfit, hat and shoes come from the items you equip, so your look keeps changing as you find new gear. Party hats and other collectible hats are shown on your character from every direction.
Changing your hair later
Visit Barber Babs at the Barber Shop in Aeven. You can choose a new Hair Style, Beard and Hair Color, with a preview, before you pay. The price depends on your level: 200 gold per level (free at level 0).
Armour and gender
Every piece of body armour in Alduin is made either for female or for male characters. The item pages show which one under Only for.
Titles and paperdoll
Other players can look at your equipment through Paperdoll in your player menu, and at the quests you have completed through Book.
